SCHOLARSHIPS

The National Naval Officers Association (NNOA) is an organization composed of active duty, reserve and retired officers, midshipmen and cadets, and interested civilians. NNOA actively supports the Sea Services in the development of a diverse officer corps through recruitment, retention, and career development. NNOA establishes and maintains a positive image of the Sea Services in communities and educational institutions. The NNOA Camp Pendleton Chapter consists of men and women from various communities in North San Diego County.

The NNOA Camp Pendleton Chapter has established a Scholarship Committee to review applicants based on merit and need to determine awardees. Applicants for scholarship awards will meet the following criteria:
  • Graduating senior at a North San Diego County Quad-City High School (Oceanside, Vista, Fallbrook and Carlsbad)
  • Minimum accumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Two letters of recommendation: one from the principal or designated representative of the school in which the applicant is currently enrolled or from whom the applicant
   most recently graduated; and one from a pastor, family friend, community leader or other person who knows the applicant well.
  • An official transcript of grades must be mailed separately.  Validation of extracurricular activities are required if not addressed on official transcript.
  • A statement of financial need, including reference to any other financial assistance they are receiving or expect to receive.
  • A narrative of 500-1000 words explaining their academic and career goals, and a statement of how the scholarship will be used.
  • Confirmation of being accepted at an accredited college or university and proof of registration for the 2012 fall semester (must have applied upon submission of application)
